KING NAMED TO SMALL BUSINESS SUBCOMMITTEES |
Washington, D.C. – Representative Steve King (R-IA), a member of the House Small Business Committee, received assignments to three Subcommittees this week. King will serve on the Subcommittee on Finance and Tax, the Subcommittee on Regulations and Healthcare and the Subcommittee on Rural Development, Entrepreneurship, and Trade.
“Today’s small business owners face a tremendous set of challenges, and Steve King is uniquely qualified to address these issues,” said Ranking Member Sam Graves (R-MO). “Congressman King’s district neighbors mine and I know he is a man of principle and integrity. His background as a small business owner, knowledge of small business issues and commitment to pro-growth policies will be an asset to the Committee during the 111th Congress.”
King owned and operated a small construction business in Iowa for over 28 years. Small businesses comprise 97 percent of Iowa’s business.
“America’s economic turnaround will be fueled by the small business owners that are the backbone of our economy,” King said. “In Iowa, we know firsthand how important small businesses are to weathering this economic storm and prospering in the future.
