King Welcomes Boy Scouts to DC
WASHINGTON D.C. – Yesterday, U.S. Congressman Steve King today met with Boy Scouts whose camp near Little Sioux, Iowa, was struck by a deadly tornado last month. The scouts were invited to Washington, D.C. to meet with the President and Members of Congress who recognized their bravery following the deadly storm as well as to see the sights of the nation’s capitol.

King made the following statement after his meeting with the Scouts:

“These Scouts are heroes in the truest sense of the word. There is no group of Scouts who have better demonstrated the Boy Scout creed of ‘Be Prepared.’ I toured the Little Sioux Boy Scout camp after the tornado came through, and the scene I saw told the tale of brave young men responding to a horrible disaster in a way that would make every American proud.

“It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome these incredible young men to our nation’s Capitol. While we’ll never forget the lives lost that night, we’ll always remember the heroic work done by these young men to prevent further loss of life.”
