King Secures Funds to Construct Medical Clinic in Remsen |
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Steve King today announced $97,000 in federal funds secured for the construction of a medical clinic for the Floyd Valley Hospital as part of H.R. 2764, Consolidated Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2008.
Since 1998, Floyd Valley Hospital has owned the medical clinic that serves the community of Remsen, Iowa. The structure, built in 1954, no longer meets the healthcare needs of the community or the goal of recruiting physicians. The $97,000 in funds will be used for the completion of a clinic for the hospital in Remsen.
“The new clinic in Remsen is a great investment in quality healthcare for Northwest Iowa. Floyd Valley Hospital has served the Le Mars area well for decades, and new facilities such as this clinic are essential for our quality of life in Iowa. I am thankful for the work of the healthcare professionals at the Floyd Valley Hospital and their commitment to this Remsen clinic,” King said.
After the House passage yesterday, the bill must now be signed into law by the President.
